Branding & Design Strategy Intern (Unpaid - Academic Credit)
Walter & Wayne is seeking a motivated Graphic Design or Marketing undergraduate for a mentorship-focused internship. Working directly under the Agency Director (former professor of design), the intern will gain hands-on training in high-level branding, packaging design, and web strategy. This internship focuses on bridging the gap between design and strategic brand communication. The role will primarily focus on building out case studies for W&W projects and creating compelling visual narratives around the work to help build the agency.

Strategic Brand Communication: Learn how to translate visual concepts into public-facing brand narratives and presentations.
Professional Workflow Mastery: Master multi-page layout and deck construction using Adobe InDesign.
Client Presentation Skills: Observe and practice the "soft skills" of presenting design strategy to stakeholders and internal team members.
Agency Operations: Gain insight into the day-to-day management of a boutique branding agency.

Collaborative Design Sessions : In-person weekly meetings (on SDSU campus) for "co-working" mentorship sessions.
Layout Development - Assist in assembling brand books, style guides, social media posts, and client changes.
Design Strategy : Help articulate the "why" behind design choices.
Remote Execution: Complete assigned design iterations and file preparation
Feedback Loops: Participate in a weekly check-in to critique work, review progress, and set goals for the following week.

Academic Status: Must be currently enrolled as a student and eligible to receive academic credit
Major: Graphic Design, Art, Multimedia, or related field.
Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud. Must be comfortable working in Adobe InDesign and have access to the software.
Hardware: Student must have access to a computer capable of running design software (as this is a hybrid/remote role).

Commitment: 10–15 hours per week (recommended for full-time students).
One weekly in-person collaborative session (SDSU Campus or San Diego Office).
Remaining work and one weekly check-in performed remotely.
Compensation: Unpaid / Academic Credit Only.
